New Year's

Happy New Year from all of us here at SmooshLabsTM Smoochie boochies.

Our NYE celebrations were pretty mellow and I gotta say we were missing home a bit. We hung out at some friends' house for dinner and then went walking around the waterfront. The Argentine tradition for New Years involves mostly being at home with family or perhaps at a restaurant until after midnight ... with lots of fireworks in the streets at midnight. But dinner time here is like 9pm to midnight and bars and clubbing sometimes start at like 2am and go well into the next morning w/ afterhours joints going to past noon! So ... midnight is kinda early in the evening for people here ... and the streets are pretty dead except for the barrage of explosives (which also goes down on Christmas ... cuz Jesus and explosives go hand in hand). So yeah, dinner w/ friends and a nice walk down to the waterfront bar scene and kicked it on a lot of park benches w/ our backpack bar. Basically stayed away from the club thing ... cuz most of our friends weren't much for the dropping mad bux to get stuffed in some club w/ a million other souls. So we just chilled and walked around. It was fun and kinda nice to not be working. Though we missed you guys a LOT.

Missed you too. I was expecting some illuminating analysis/description of the international club scene with cultural comparison. Benches huh? Muy bien. My New Year's was clubbin' in PDX and I really enjoyed not knowing a single person there. It's a good phase for me. So far I pick new skis over travel...but that's gonna change now that the new skis are here. Love you guys.
